2005 ANNUAL REPORT - TEXAS CARDINALS, INC.

MESSAGE FROM HENRY S. MARTIN, PGP, AND PRESIDENT

To the Members of Texas Cardinals, Inc.

First, let me thank every member of the Texas Cardinals for their invaluable assistance during
the past year. At our 2005 Grand Chapter session in Galveston, I asked for the members and those
who have participated and assisted the Texas Cardinals to stand. If you were there, you saw almost
everyone in the arena rise to her or his feet. There was overwhelming excitement and enthusiasm in
that arena. And that is because of each of you and the outstanding job you have done.

The members of the Texas Cardinals have accomplished an incredible amount during these past
several years. We are approaching our considerable financial goal and, with everyone’s help, we will
reach that goal by 2009. This has been accomplished through the purchase of memberships, donations,
the acquiring and selling of Cardinals’ merchandise, and various other fund-raising activities. And it
happened because of the dedication and hard work of a lot of very special people, namely YOU…

As I write this, we are in the latter part of December 2005 and when we next meet, 2006 will be
in its second month. That means there are only three years left before we install Texas’ own Sister
Rennie Ofton and Nova Scotia/PEI’s Brother Fred Clarke as Most Worthy Grand Matron and Most
Worthy Grand Patron in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in November 2009. This is certainly an exciting time to be
a part of the Texas Cardinals, as our mission to first install these officers and then to host the world-
wide Eastern Star organization at the General Grand Chapter session in Fort Worth in 20l2 is coming
closer every day. The planning for installation is moving ahead very quickly, with several Committee
Chairmen already working hard. However, there is much more to do and we hope that each one of
you will be a part of this opportunity to show the Eastern Star world how well Texas does things and
to take immense pride in the fact that a Texan will be our Most Worthy Grand Matron.

For the first time in the history of the Texas Cardinals, we are having our annual meeting in a city
outside of San Antonio. On Sunday, February 5, 2006, we will meet in Waco at the Eastern Star Temple
at 2:00 p.m. Sister Diane Davidson and the Waco Eastern Stars have very generously offered to host our
meeting and to serve a complimentary lunch prior to the meeting at 12:00 noon.

Let me encourage each one of you to come and join us at this important meeting on February 5, and
to bring at least one friend. Completion of the formidable tasks that we have in front of us will require
the dedication and assistance of as many Eastern Star members as possible. But, I have no doubt that
each of you will rise to the occasion. I look forward to seeing each of you in Waco on February 5th.

MESSAGE FROM SISTER RENNIE OFTON, RIGHT WORTHY GRAND CONDUCTRESS
AND PAST GRAND MATRON OF TEXAS

With love and appreciation to all! I echo Henry’s message whole-heartedly and join in commending
every member of Texas Cardinals, Inc., for your loyal participation. In introductions at various Grand
Chapters or special events, it always is a source of pride to stand and say I am from Texas! Words are
not adequate to express my thanks to our Officers, District Liaison members, membership, address
records, sales personnel, and all who have so loyally continued in spreading the story and needs of our
Texas Cardinals. I appreciate the special events where the Texas Cardinals, Inc., (and I!) have been
honored. We have done something wonderful in showing “the world” we want all to come and enjoy
Texas in 2012 and that we are working hard to get ready for them. Thank you so very much! May God
Bless each of you for your work in the Order of the Eastern Star and for the Texas Cardinals, Inc. I know Brother Fred Clarke and Sister Margaret Clarke join me in expressing their excitement and
appreciation as we go forth together.

FROM SISTER ALMA LYNN BANE, PGM, GGC 2006 LIAISON, for the General Grand Chapter Meeting in Minneapolis, Minn., on October 27, 2006 thru November 2, 2006. See your February
Bulletin for detailed information regarding this important session.
